MARTINA FERNÁNDEZ FASCIOLO
Martina Fernández Fasciolo graduated in TESOL at Instituto de Profesores Artigas in Uruguay and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Human Sciences, with an emphasis in Language, Culture and Society. She holds two permanent positions as an instructor at ANEP’s TESOL teacher training program (Instituto de Profesores Artigas and Centro Regional de Profesores del Centro), and has over nine years of experience as an English language teacher in secondary schools.
She has been awarded several grants for co-developing educative projects (with teachers and learners) on Gender Education, which is her main interest. She recently co-authored the book Ocho pasos hacia la transformación. Un modelo de educación en género (ANEP, CFE). She has presented in numerous academic events including the 2019 Teacher Conference in Cambodia. Her research explores gender representations and negotiations in education, EFL, and ELT.
PAULA PÉREZ PERDOMO
Paula Pérez Perdomo holds a BA in Communications and a TESOL degree. She is currently pursuing a MA in Humanities, with an emphasis on Language, Culture and Society. She is a tenured teacher at ANEP’s TESOL teacher training program (at Centro Regional de Profesores -CeRP- del Centro and Profesorado Semipresencial) in the areas of culture and linguistic aspects. She has been working in Teacher Education since 2009 and has over fifteen years of experience as an ELT professional.
She is a former US-DOS Fulbright FLTA grantee and is now also a mentor of the ETA program by the same commission. Her research interests are where language and culture intersect. While living in the US she developed an interest in the experience of unprivileged groups in the United States, and she was able to expand her academic profile in these fields of study. More particularly, she is drawn to the question of media representation of these populations in the context of the ideology of white-supremacy.
MARÍA CECILIA VEIGA MELITÓN
María Cecilia Veiga Melitón graduated in History at Universidad Católica del Uruguay and was awarded the “Certificación par la enseñanza de Inglés en Escuelas Públicas” at Instituto de Formación Docente de Florida, in Uruguay. . She holds a position as an instructor at ANEP’s TESOL teacher training program (Centro Regional de Profesores del Centro), and at State Primary School 19 in Flroida.
She has over eighteen years of experience as an English language teacher in both primary, secondary schools and as a private teacher for Cambridge Examinations. She has taught English for the Secreatrial course at Instituto Crandon – Florida HIgh School. María Cecilia has also held administrative and secretraial positions involving translation of scientific, business and commercial materials.

ADRIANA DE LOS SANTOS
Adriana de los Santos is a Uruguayan Teacher Educator and Academic Consultant. She holds a BA in Education from Universidad de la República, Uruguay, and a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Southampton, UK. She also did postgraduate studies in Philosophy of Education (Universidad de La Plata, Argentina), Differentiated Instruction (Harvard School of Education, USA) and Educational Management (Universidad ORT, Uruguay).
She has worked as an English Project Manager for the British Council, as a Material Writer and Remote Teacher for Plan Ceibal, Uruguay and as a Course Director for the Licentiate Diploma in TESOL (Trinity College, London). She has also worked as an Assistant Professor and Researcher at Instituto de Educación, Universidad de la República, Uruguay.
She currently works in teacher education and in international cooperation project management at ANEP, CFE. She also works with the Language Policy Team at ANEP-CODICEN as a certified Cambridge Speaking Examiner. She is an Academic Consultant at International House, Montevideo and a Primary English Coordinator at Colegio Nacional José Pedro Varela.
Adriana has delivered talks in national and international TESOL forums, in British Council global events and at the IATEFL International Conference.
ELENA M. GARCIA-PAULLIER

MARIANGEL CARREÑO RIVAS
Mariangel Carreño Rivas is a graduate teacher of English from Centro Regional de Profesores del Centro (Cerp Centro). She holds a Master's degree in Human Sciences, with an emphasis on Language, culture and society (Universidad de la República, Uruguay) and another one in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana, Puerto Rico). She also has postgraduate degrees in Curriculum (Flacso, Uruguay), in Virtual Learning Environments (Virtual Educa – OEI), and in Assessment of Learning (Universidad Católica del Uruguay). She is a Ph.D. student in Linguistics (Universidad de la República).
Mariangel has been a teacher for 26 years in secondary education. She currently teaches at the Teacher Education Council. She has presented in several ELT events at home and abroad and has published articles in national and international journals. She is interested in researching how young people learn and use English at school and beyond, agency and autonomy in foreign language learning, and multiliteracies in ELT.

Virginia Frade Pandolfi is a PhD Candidate in Linguistics at Universidad de la República (UdelaR), where she also obtained her MA in Human Sciences (Language, Culture and Society) and her first BA in Literature. She also holds a second BA in English Language Teaching from Instituto de Profesores Artigas (Montevideo), where she holds two permanent positions teaching Linguistics and Literature, as well as at CeRP del Centro (Florida), and modalidad Semipresencial. She holds a Specialization in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) from the Universidad a distancia de Madrid (UDIMA). Since this year, she is an adjunt professor at Universidad ORT, where she teaches Applied Linguistics in the Diploma in English Language Teaching. In 2012 Frade was awarded with a scholarship to take a summer course on “Using Contemporary Teen Literature to Teach US Culture and Language” at Michigan State University (USA). In 2017 she was awarded with the SUSI scholarship for scholars to study “Contemporary American Literature”, organized by Seattle University (Washington, USA). In 2018, Professor Frade together with Professor Martina Fernández Fasciolo were awarded with the Small Grants (US Embassy in Uruguay) to develop a project on Media Literacy and Gender Education in Uruguay.
Her main fields of research focus on EFLT and classroom interaction in Primary School education, as well as on Sci-Fi in American Literature. She co-authored Ocho Pasos hacia la transformación, un modelo de educación en género (ANEP, 2019), Configuraciones del desvío. Estudios sobre lo fantástico en la literatura latinoamericana (2017), and Inmediaciones de lo distante. Estudios sobre Ciencia Ficción en la literatura americana (2020). She has published several articles in international journals, as well as book chapters on Linguistics and on Sci-Fi literature. She also co-directs the peer-reviewed journal Tenso Diagonal, and has been invited to peer-review articles and book chapters on Linguistics and Literature. Frade has been invited to participate in international research groups in the field of literature, in Mexico, Brazil, and Uruguay. In 2020, Frade became member of the “Grupo Internacional de Investigación de la violencia” (in different cultural representations) at the Universidad de Playa Ancha (Chile).
MARÍA JOSÉ LUCAS ROSSO

María José Lucas Rosso is a graduated in TESOL at Instituto de Profesores Artigas. She holds a Master Degree in Education with an emphasis in Specific Language and Reasoning Learning Difficulties (Universidad Católica del Uruguay). Her thesis explored the obstacles EFL students with specific language learning difficulties face when learning English in secondary school education. She also holds two postgraduate degrees on the same field. (Universidad Católica del Uruguay) She is a tenured teacher at ANEP’s TESOL Teacher Training Program at Centro Regional de Profesores (CeRP- del Centro) and Profesorado Semipresencial (hybrid learning program), in the areas of Culture and Literature. She has also worked as a teacher trainer at Cerp del Centro and Instituto de Profesores Artigas on the fields of Didactics and Literature. She has been working in Teacher Education since 2008 and has over 30 years of experience as an ELT professional in secondary schools. She has been tutor of the online teaching program developed by Pearson and CFE “Teacher Development Interactive”. She has been part of the English Department of Colegio San Francisco de Sales-Maturana, Certified Cambridge Official Preparation Centre for International Examinations, since 1997. She has been certified in the area of School Management (Curso para Directores CODICEN ANEP), holding a position of Coordinator of the Secondary School English Department at Colegio San Francisco de Sales-Maturana in partnership with Instituto Anglo since 2016
She has been awarded a scholarship by the Department of State of the US Embassy at Montevideo and ANEP intended to EFL teachers, Young Adult Literature Program was designed by the English Language Center at Michigan State University- MI. USA. She was also awarded a scholarship for the Critical Thinking Program at the University of Oregon on line education program. She has published academic articles about literature and education. Part of her research interests includes the intersection of literature and learning English in the EFL classroom and elaboration of educational material for EFL teachers who want to include literature in their practice. She has participated on several academic events on the fields of literature and education, literature as critical thinking shaper and American literature and culture. She has developed a research interest in female science fiction authors, especially Afro American writers.

Adriana Pérez Salatto graduated in TESOL at IFD Florida and is currently pursuing her Master´s in Didactics for Higher Education. She holds a Specialization in Didactics (CLAEH), a Diploma in Digital technologies (Cambridge, CFE-Ceibal) and a Diploma in Assessment (UCUDAL). She holds a position as an instructor at ANEP´s TESOL teacher training program (CeRP del Centro) and at Secondary Schools. She has over 28 years of experience as an English language teacher both in public and private institutions. She has presented in Uruguay and abroad and has also published articles in national and international journals.
